For eyebrows that are too thick: The first step is to create the basic shape you want. With the stencils in place on your brows, use a white pencil to fill in the cut-out area. Then carefully remove the stencils, leaving the white shape on your brow. Place the stencils on the back of the stencil sheet to be reused. Next, remove all of the hair outside the white area. (We recommend using Hair Off Instant Eyebrow Shapers.) Once you've taken off the excess hair, remove the white pencil using water, toner or eye makeup remover. Now fill in any uneven or missing spots with brow color. If you need a guide, put the stencils on again. For a softer, more natural look use an eyebrow powder and an angled brush. For a more dramatic and precise look, use an eyebrow pencil.

Professional makeup artists have some easy, fool-proof techniques for creating brows that are perfectly symmetrical and balanced for your face. Follow these three simple steps to be sure your stencils are properly and evenly positioned. Then follow the directions for your particular brow type.
Before you start: The stencils work best when skin is clean and free of oil or makeup. Use your stencils before you apply foundation and/or eye makeup.
- Find the inner point: To find the beginning point, lay your eyebrow pencil alongside your nose, pointing straight up. Mark the point on your brow a finger's width above the bridge of your nose. Do the same for the other brow.
- Find the outer point: Place your pencil diagonally from the tip of your nose to the outer edge of your eye. Mark the point where the pencil hits your brow bone. Do the same for the other brow.
- Place stencils over your brows: Peel one stencil off the backing, making sure to separate it from the inner cutout. Line up the inner edge of the cutout with the inner point you marked in Step 1. Line up the outer point of the cutout with the outer point you marked in Step 2. Press firmly against your skin. (The bottom edge of the stencil will be positioned just above your eyelid.) Place other stencil on using the same method. NOTE: Be sure the stencils are positioned evenly and symmetrically.
For eyebrows that are too thin, too light or too sparse: You want to define their shape, fill in the missing spots and give them a smooth, even look. For a softer, more natural look, use an eyebrow powder and an angled brush to fill in the stencil. For a more dramatic and precise look, use an eyebrow pencil. Choose a shade that best matches your hair color and natural brows. (If in doubt, choose a shade slightly lighter than your own brows.) Once the stencils have been filled in, gently remove them and place them on the back of the stencil sheet to be reused.
